"I often work in a Depth Psychology mode - exploring past traumas with my client, and facilitating my client in ways to support and heal their inner child for each traumatic event. This is intense for me as a therapist and can be quite tiring.
Consequently I'm amazed and disappointed at the number of therapists I've encountered that see 8 -10 clients a day. When I talk with these therapists I discover that they tend NOT to work at depth. They use CBT and other popular modes that in my view are largely (useful) coping skills but they don't go to the core energy driving the problem.
Consequently I've devised my own therapy mode that is client centred, where the client discovers how to support their inner child using resources from within their own personality! I know that this is not a panacea, but I've seen it work for so called "Panic Attacks", Chronic Anxiety, Agoraphobia, some types of Depression, various forms of Self Destructive behaviour, and even bladder dysfuntion. I also believe that healing at this level is to go on a healing journey WITH your client rather than simply to witness them or treat their symptoms. I think that if as therapists their was a significant spiritual - existential - experiential component to our training that we would treat clients differently. You may want to view a discussion I started in this regard: "Training Psychologist, Psychiatrists, and Psychotherapists: Ignoring the Spiritual, the Mystical, and Existential Philosophy."
Kind Regards, Russell."
Fórumról idevágott, idemetszett, ideszórt töredék, bocsánatot kérek mindenkitől aki nem olvas angolul, so I ask those who speak not Hungarian to forgive me, nincs kedvem lefordítani, I do not own the patience now to translate.
